Tinkerbell to get new home at Walt Disney World
Filed Under News
According to the Orlando Sentinel Walt Disney World has plans to introduce the Disney Fairies characters - including Tinkerbell, into the parks. Auditions were held last week for actresses to play Tinker Bell, Silvermist, Rosetta, Iridessa, and Fawn.
A Disney spokeswoman, Andrea Finger, explained: “Disney Imagineers are currently creating a special new home for Tink and her friends which promises to immerse guests in the world of Pixie Dust at Walt Disney World”. She would not elaborate as to whether this meant the characters might have their own attraction - or which park they would appear in (though surely the Magic Kingdom would be the most appropriate).
The Disney Fairies are part of a new entertainment franchise that the Walt Disney Company has been developing over recent years, which includes children’s books, games and toys, a website and a series of straight to DVD movies which are due for release this fall.
