The Simpsons Ride update
By Mrs S • Mar 29th, 2008 • Category: News, Universal Studios
The new Simpsons ride over at Universal Studios is scheduled to open in Spring 2008 - replacing the much-loved Back to the Future attraction.
This new ride will be housed in the same building - and will also be a motion simulator ride that “tilts, pitches, dips and twists in sync with the action that is projected onto a towering 80 foot dome”.
The ride was designed with the help of the creators of the long-running tv show and features the voices of the original actors.
When you board the ride you will be heading for Krustyland - a fabulous themepark - you’ll board the ride alongside Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie and from there you will be subjected to “one surprise after another as you’re swept away with the Simpsons on a wild ride through Krustyland… flying, bumping, floating and crashing your way through Krusty’s thrilltacular attractions”.
I was a big fan of the Back to the Future attraction and was sad to see it closed - but as the years went by it had become more and more uncomfortable to ride - so I’m looking forward to this new attraction - which promises the use of new technology to give guests an experience they’ll enjoy so much they’ll want to ride again and again.
Expect long long lines when this attraction opens later in the spring - so if you are planning a trip to Universal Studios be sure to get there early and head straight to The Simpsons Ride.
