Cathy’s Book isn’t your usual ‘words on a page’ kind of book; it’s presented as a journal documenting Cathy’s detective adventures - complete with doodles and illustrations. In among the story are telephone numbers you can call to pick up messages about the characters, websites to visit and IM conversations.
After the disappointing Anne of Windy Willows, I was slightly reticent to pick this one up — but Montgomery has returned to form — as Anne and Gilbert’s relationship blossoms we are introduced to more delightful characters who make up a charming and heart-warming tale
I think that as a stand-alone ‘chronicles’ this book should be appreciated - but for a reader who yearns for tales of Anne and her loved ones it left me wanting.
Breaking Dawn starts out with the fabulous wedding between Bella and Edward - and then takes the reader on a roller coaster ride, full of twists and turns, with a bit of blood and gore and romance thrown in for good measure.
The book is well written and gives an insight into how people with this Syndrome think and react to the wider world.
Montgomery continues to weave a great tale that makes for a comfortable read - and even throws in a little romance!
This is a heartwarming tale packed with historic drama and great friendship - with a sprinkle of romance and a dramatic twist. Suitable for adults and young adults alike you should give this book a try if you are interested in American history - or you are an animal lover.
Once again Montgomery has delivered a delightful novel that has stood the test of time
Hale has woven a magical fairytale, with believable characters and such spell-binding descriptions that there were times I would look up from the book and be surprised to find that I wasn’t standing on a cobbled street surrounded by geese!
