About me

Clare Swindlehurst AKA Mrs SHello! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet, it’s warm and cosy here so pull up a chair and stay a while.

I’ve put together this site as part of a reading challenge I am doing this year - to read 50 books, any books, any genre, but at least 50. I wanted to encourage myself to read more, and to think about the novels and the storylines and what the author set out to do when he or she picked up a pen and started writing - so this site is the place where I put fingers to keyboard and write down my thoughts on each book - and hopefully encourage others to read them too.

Originally my site was called 50 Book Challenge - a little unimaginative right? I decided I needed something a little more interesting - and I settled on Blue Archipelago. Archipelago is such a beautiful word isn’t it? I first heard it on a Counting Crows track and it summons up an aura of peace and tranquility; a little private desert island where you can forget about your troubles. To me that’s what books are all about; escapism - the chance for your imagination to take you somewhere else.

Where do I find…?

The Book Reviews?

My most recent review will appear in the *Latest Review* box on the home page. The most recent 5 star reviews run down the left hand side of the home page. All other reviews can be found via the category list over on the right hand side - listed by star rating.

The blog posts

Any posts that aren’t Book Reviews appear in the middle column of the homepage. The most recent post in each of the Asides, Weekly Geeks and Sunday Salon categories will feature there. This means that for weekly posts, like the Geeks and the Salon, you’ll be able to find the latest post on the home page at all times. To read any older posts simply head over to the categories list on the right.

Oh and if all else fails you can always use the search box in the top right ;)

I hope that once you’ve had a little look around you’ll be able to find everything you’re looking for - but if not just drop me a comment down there at the bottom and I’ll try and help.

Oh and if you have any feedback you can post that too :)

I update the site every Sunday as part of the Sunday Salon - and then as and when I finish reading a book - so make sure you never miss an update by subscribing to my RSS feed or having an update delivered to your inbox.

While you’re here why not share your thoughts on a book I’ve read using the comments at the bottom of the review or recommend a book you think I should read.

Thanks for stopping by

Mrs S
