5 stars – if you write a blog or are thinking of starting one you need to read this book
Description
Blogging has become a popular and fascinating pastime for many, but more and more bloggers are finding it can also be an excellent source of direct or indirect income. Although the barriers to starting a blog are low, without expert guidance it is easy to get frustrated when success doesn’t match expectations. Written by the creator of the world’s #1 resource for making money with blogs, ProBlogger takes the reader from absolute beginner to earning money from or as a result of blogging.
Why did you choose to read this book?
I’ve been a subscriber of the ProBlogger feed for a long time and was lucky enough to win a copy of this book in a contest at Everybody Go To.
The Book Review
I’ve read a lot of blogs about blogging – as well as being a regular visitor to ProBlogger so I wasn’t sure that this book would teach me anything new – I was pleasantly surprised!
It’s very well written and leads the reader through the steps of setting up a blog including selecting a niche, choosing a blogging platform, writing sticky content, and of course how to make money from your blog.
I’ve been blogging for a while so I knew about a lot of this already – but it was still an enjoyable read as both Darren and Chris back up the theory with their own personal experiences. They also do a good job of pitching the content just right – I can see how beginners would understand it, and yet at no time does it feel patronising.
If you are new to blogging – or would like to move your blog to another level – and perhaps earn enough to quit your day job then you should buy yourself a copy of this very informative book.

Claire, would this book be appropriate for someone (like me!) who doesn’t know anything about SEO, page rank, linking pages, etc.?
Great review BTW.
