Challenge update

Spring Reading Thing - 4 out of 8 books read - 5th book abandoned - on track
The Pub (2008) - 2 out of 8 books read - need to buy some more!
Well it felt like a busy month - but Dewey’s list puts mine to shame *lol* Must do better in May…
Looking ahead to May
A book binge
Thanks to Florinda I’ve discovered yet another mini challenge - this one is called Book Binge and as the name suggests simply requires you to read as many books as you can between May 5 and May 31, and then post a list of them on June 1. Simple right? And a good way to try and get through some of my TBR pile - and report a more respectable number of books in my May round up *lol*
Here’s the rules - ‘cos every good challenge has some:
Rules:
- You can include books you re-read, so long as you re-read them in between May 5 and 31.
- You may also include books you start but don’t finish, just note the page at which you gave it up. Something like, “Quit, page 47 of 322″.
- You may only include books you read aloud to your children if they are at least 125 pages long.
- Students may include textbooks (if they’re at least 100 pages long).
If you’d like to sign up just head over to Book Binge and post your name in the comments.

A booking community
Tricia has set up a Facebook type site for us book bloggers - you can make your own page with links to your booking blog and other information about yourself. You can also join in discussions with other members. I’ve been over there today having a play around and was surprised by the number of people I *knew* on the members list. Why not join in the fun and add yourself to my friends list!
Weekly Geeks and new books
Dewey set the latest Weekly Geeks challenge yesterday - and asked that we all encourage other readers to share links to their reviews. I think this is a great idea and have added a Mr Linky box to all of my reviews - and will going forward. So if you’ve reviewed a book that I’ve read be sure to post a link to your review in the Mr Linky ![]()
Yesterday I spent a good hour wandering around the book store trying to spend some gift tokens - you can find out what I bought here - they were all books added to my wish list after reading glowing reviews from fellow book bloggers.
I think that covers everything I wanted to share with y’all today - now I’m off to visit some other saloners and read some more of Geraldine Brooks’ March - which I am really enjoying so far.
Until next week… Happy Sunday!

I decided to join in on the Book Binge this month as well. Any excuse to try and read more, right? You are making good progress on your challenges. I wish I could say the same.
I should have joined the Pub 2008 Challenge because that’s one I could have easily done! I seem to be reading a lot of soon-to-be and recent releases these days.

Thanks for the heads-up about Book Binge. I saw it on Cheryl’s comment and found the information here…lol!
It looks like you made some good book progress this month. Looking back I guess I did too. I did finish 3 or 4 books. But truthfully it doesn’t feel like I accomplished much. Nothing seems to be holding my attention these days!
